Just caught the end of Extreme 4x4 on Spike. They had a Samurai they had put a 1.6TD in along with a greasecar kit. Unfortunately it doesn't look like it's on again. http://www.powerblocktv.com/sites/xtreme/episodes/index.php?ep_num=XT2008-03&ep_sea=0801

Did they say that they got that 1.6TD out of a 1999 jetta?

Yeah, there was talk of that on another forum I'm on that the guy from the show is on, though he isn't the one who brought it up. It was funny the chick flopped it. Who knows, maybe someone had converted a 99 gas Jetta to diesel.

The engine came out of a MK 2 Jetta, originally they told me it was an '86. There were a few inaccuracies, but that's just T.V..  The truck is very cool and sounds awsome though.

Right now we are working on a show called "Gearz" w/ Stacey David the host and producer of the "Trucks" show.  That show will be on the Speed Channel but probably won't air until the end of summer at the earliest.

There is a guy out here with an AAZ in one. He was going to sell it, though I don't know if he ever did. He had overheating problems, but wouldn't listen that his rad was too small. He also set timing without tools. I have some pics somewhere. I thought I had them on the net, but I guess they are just on my computer. He's in CO, so not terribly far away.(North of Denver)
