I feel cheeky messaging people off forums when they run a business, if they see this and feel they want to reply, then thats good, but, well, you know, he'll answer if he wants to sort of thing.

Hehe I think Giles is a busy fellow form what I have seen and he just doesn't get online very often to participate in the forums with his new business.  Since my cousin works there he was the guy that came straight to mind.  It wasn't like you were asking trade secrets :)

yea i couldn't see why someone would not divulge that information.  unless it would breach some sort of agreement set out by Bosch...

So, it's the pin length that sets the breaking pressure?

Cheers for that.

:)

If that's the case, then there is an insert that isn't shown that would probably set the pressure of the 2nd spring. They don't show all the parts in the above diagram, or there are different TDI injectors. Mine still seem to have shims as well.

Last ones I opened did too, hence question but the breaking pressures have always been bob on, so no real need to adjust, just wanted to check really.

So, someone correct me if I'm wrong, the way I see it.

Pressure builds in injector, needle starts to lift, compresses gap h1, this movement it acting on spring 1(the top one)
Needle keeps moving till gap h2 is taken up then the needle acts on the lower spring (spring 2 (or rather the spring acts on the needle)

I suppose with a standard pop tester you can only measure the breaking pressure and you are unable to set both springs without another machine?

I don't see why you couldn't remove the stope sleeve, check the pressure, replace it, then check the pressure again. It should tell you something. Pressure (total) - pressure (stope removed, rod pressure) should = pressure from stope sleeve.
