AAZ injectors... anyone play with them ??
« on: December 15, 2007, 07:36:53 pm »
Three of my four project AAZ's injectors failed miserably on the pop tester so apart they come.

The nozzles are Bosch DNO SD308 and they are set to a 150bar breaking pressure in KCA 27S77 dual-spring injector bodies.

On my shelf I have some new GTD nozzles (DNO SD274) and some new Mercedes 300D nozzles (DNO SD261).

Has anyone found a good online reference to decode the Bosch numbering system ?? I'd be tempted to try out the Mercedes nozzles but wonder how far from the original design I'd be.

Then there's the dual-spring design... two shims to fool with.  Anyone played with calibrating these injectors ??

I was wondering how you were doing with this project.  By the way, very nice job on the 1.6 rebuild write up.  I wish I could offer some insider secret, but I had mine done at a guys shop.  AAZ bodies, Merc nozzles.  He said they went right together no problem, pop tested and set them to 155.

Thanks... I'm gonna add some AAZ pictures to round out the story.

So far are you happy with the Merc nozzles ??

i think calibrating the dual opening pressure ones require special equipment.  Giles said that he couldn't set the 2nd opening pressure on my TDI injectors.  thank god they popped fine  8) otherwise i'd be looking at buying another set...

hopefully they pop fine for you :)
