94 jetta alarm problems
« on: December 16, 2007, 11:24:58 pm »
Ok i have a 94 jetta.  I went to start it today, it gave symtoms of a loose battery termanal... I then proceded to tighten the negative termanel, when the factory alarm whent off.   Now i cannot start the car or open the doors with battery hooked up without the alarm going off.  Both the drivers side and the passenger side door locks do not work anymore with the key.

I have serched the site over and over again with no luck on this problem, anyone out there have any ideas on how i can bypass the alarm system and be able to use my car again?

On mk3 with alarm...isn't the way that you disable the alarm when unhooking the battery by inserting the key in the door, turning while you remove the battery (2 person job). Can't remember, and I don't do the mk3 thing...but this seems to pop up in my brain.
Might want to check over on the Vortex as well. www.vwvortex.com  I'm sure thats been asked there before.
If I had more time at the moment, I'd look it up. Have to get to work though...

The mk3 alarm modules have a tendency to go too... Had that happen to me. I got a spare on the vortex fs threads I think no one will miss it from a dash swap if it comes down to you needing it before someone else gets it. Good luck!
