I made over 180whp on my 1z block, I don't think the blocks are the weak point. All of the VW 4cylinder blocks are pretty strong, My buddies 16V made over 500whp and 395lbs of tq, and thats on a gasser block.

have fun bolting in that alh block
the ahu goes right in
i believe that the alh overshadowed the ahu because "its the newest" and why research/develop the ahu which wasnt made for too long
i dont see why theoretically  it couldnt make as much power

Actually I bought a B5.5 2.0PD and am now going with that The ALH is now up for sale, whole or parts.
