i bought one a while back but all i can find now is the short regular style ones that the gasser engines have... maybe i got the wrong one before but it was like almost twice as long...
i'd like to get another one like that for my diesel AND my 1.8t
Doesn't the 1.8T use cartridge type filter?
1988 cabriolet gasser.Thats what i use.
I use the volvo 6 cylinder diesel oil filters, loads bigger, same internals but more paper media inside. they are found on vw engined volvo 740 diesels in the uk
Bert
1.6td filter from a T3/T25/Vanagon/whatever you call it where you live
o to napa and et the proper mann or mahle filters I find them much better than fram or napa. If you need to crossmatch the numbers at your auto parts store the fram number is 3569
i would never buy fram they are absolute ***, i like the napa gold filters alot, they look better than the factory mann filters side by side. do larger filters likethe volvo one fit on mk1s? the stock onebarely has any room
or switch to amsoil EA fiters. more expensive but filter much more. couple that with a bypass filter and you're oil will stay super clean!
the napa gold series are made by WIX filters, for media sq/in and density (micron) rating, the are difficult to beat.... and one of my favorite parts, they are possibly the best value....check out fleetfilters.com
