well if he said the money didn't clear on paypal dont let that wait. contact paypal and give them a copy of what he told you. i think you only have 15 days (pretty damn retarded) to report this.

I have bought an MTDI pump from him (Have not tested it yet and i can't tell if it's an MTDI pump or just a regular pump). He did not have a paypal account and he wanted to use his friend's. I was kind skeptical and he ended up shipping it to his friend that live close to me and i picked it up from his friend and gave him the cash.
He seems kind of fair as we exchange pm's a lot during the transaction. Let me know if you need more info.

I am working through a transaction right now with Chris. I may be buying a TDI tranny and bits from him. I will let you know how it goes. The shipping costs are the hang up. 160.00 from canada, 38.00 from 1 hour south.

Just to clarify some things about Paypal. If you fund the Paypal payment through your bank account, it will show you that the transfer was done immediately, but they wait until the transfer clears from your bank to them before they transfer to the seller, so there can legitimately be cases where the seller did not get the money immediately. Typically this time would be less than a week.
Also, if there is a dispute, Paypal will only refund your money if the seller has the amount in their Paypal account. If you pay $200 for example, and the seller immediately transfers $100 from their Paypal account to their bank account and only leaves $100 in the Paypal account, that is all that is available to you in a refund.
