Yeah, it's messy alright.

I may give resealing it myself a go I have more to read first, I want to add a 1.6 LDA to it also. If not then I was thinking of using the ebay guy. It runs out nice so, I think the rest of the pump is fine.

I don't mind the small turbo. It's going to be on the interstate the most anyhow. LDA and an Intercooler should pep it up all while keeping MPG up there.

I plan on doing the timing belt, hoses, and whatever else is easy to get to while the motor is out.

In the meantime, I don't have the "Proper" tools for messing with the timing belt and IP. Is there a method that I can use to safely get the IP off and on until it's time for the engine to come out and do the timing belt and get tools?

Back when I had my 1Z Jetta I used to do my timing belt using the "Masking tape and $5.00 bicycle tool" method I learned on tdiclub.com worked well. Anything similar for the IDI?
