Maybe there's nothing I can do about it, but my truck has a small yet irritating issue. Now, the truck is an NA 1.6 with 160k miles on it. It used to have a noticeable, repetative miss on the freeway that you could feel, but only in 5th and in certain load situations. I changed the injectors with some other TD injectors I had. They were used, but were definitely better than what was in there. This helped a lot. It runs much better, but it still has a bit of a miss on the freeway. Once again, only in 5th and under certain load conditions. I ran some diesel purge through it and I'm not sure if that helped or hurt things.
So, my question for you diesel experts is: do you think this is still an injector related problem?
 Mike
You gotta say whether it is cruisin' or under load.
Speed? Or just cannabis [sorry]
Smokin' or Lean?

how old is your clutch??? (yes, I say clutch because a bad clutch may slip on the freeway under diesel load)
but do check compression... thats always a killer
I replaced the clutch about 4 months ago. It's a sachs 210mm that I removed from my GTI when it started slipping after surpassing about 180whp. It looked brand new, so I reused it and have had no issues with it.
Cruising in 5th, but going up a small grade I can feel a miss now and then. Sometimes it just feels like it's vibrating a lot. Part of it is that the passenger side mount is bad, but still... It does smoke, but mostly when I'm going up hills with my foot to the floor. As for speed, I'm almost always trying to go as fast as I can on the freeway which means about the speed limit...usually less going up hills and more going down hills. In steady cruise I'm at about 65 mph.
well I've noticed that my engine "misses" while driving (usually when the engine is under load ie: accelerating in 4th gear going 40 km/h on a slight incline with 4 people in the car)
I've a sneaky suspicion that my clutch is slipping though. (even being brand spanking new!!!) Maybe it's the way I drive, but I'm not a maniac so I don't understand
