Getting pissed off with thermostats!!!

Well I bought a 192F one from c-tire because the one from VW was junk.  This time i tested before installing.

192... nothing... 198 nothing... 204 nothing... 210 some signs of movement, and oh yes.. the water is boiling by this point... WTF!!!!!  is it my bad luck or something? or are these t-stats just shiiiite? i think it was fully open at around 212F or something..

aaaaaaaaarggghhhh at least i can bring this one back.

if anyone was thinking "well the water was stationary" true but i mixed it up and used the thermometer nearest the t-stat to get a good reading.

they are known to be bad from the factory. better luck with OE ones but no matter what they are known to occasionally be bad even brand new.

yes i'd take it back and test another.

I had the same thing happen to me.. It's a pain in the ass, and nothing you can do to really prevent it unfortunately.
