Not diesel related, but I know a lot of you guys are long-time VW-nuts. I'm looking for a CIS basic (NON-lambda) dizzy and sensor plate. Cheap is the operative word here. Wanna drive my Scirocco the rest of the summer and save a little gas money as well.

Money saved means a quicker launch of my TDI swap.

Thanks folks.

Cool! 2 Questions- 1. Do they work and 2. do they have the frequency valve or not? I'm looking for the kind that does not. Thanks for checking!

I think i have both? do you have a pic. of your old one? part number on tthe side may help? that would prolly help me find you the right one! all the ones i have came from good running cars ! the bodies were just rusted out! we have that up here in siberia! (Wisconsin)
i'll look to see if i have one with out the frequency valve so it narrows down the search!
thanks Duane
UPDATE
I have 2 with out frequency and 1 with these are all still conected to complete motors!

Sweet! So how much you want for a non-freq. unit? I'm actually replacing a CIS-E system on this car, I hate CIS-E!!!
Thanks for looking.

I guess 75 bucks+ship this one i got in mind is from a 81 rabbit that only had 74,000 confirmed miles on it before i parted it out! I not sure about shipping it because it smells like gas still! im afraid they might think it's some sort of improvised bomb! L.O.L.

Ah, wrap it up good in plastic first, should be fine.

Want to give me a total for shipping to 43050? Also, any chance you could throw in the two braided fuel lines to the warm-up regulator?

Thanks!

I also have this full injection setup off my 82 rocco (read 81 and prior 8v injection system) so if the other one falls through, let me know.
It was all working when I took it off, was removed for a motor swap to 16v.
And i feel your CIS-E pain!

Is the Frequency Valve another word for the differential pressure regulator? As in, it's a CIS-E part and not a CIS or CIS-Lambda part?
Looking at possibly converting my newly acquired Fox to CIS, the better to run E85 without the ox sensor going nuts on me.... steel bodied fuel distributor and no oxygen sensor means no corrosion issues there and the ability to let it run lean.

not a problem Brendon, I'll throw in the lines for sure! do you need the bottom part where the air filter goes? or do you still have your old one?
if you don't need the bottom ! I might be able to get it in a prority box for under 10 bucks! let me know if you need the bottom?
thanks Duane
and turbinepowered im not sure about the frequency valve it's been a while since i've played with any of that stuff! but i do know if you run E-85 through your fuel system it's bad on any rubber parts you would need to change any rubber that got in contact with that fuel to those viton style hoses,O-rings,seals! thats the same as us diesel's running bio-fuel! E-85 is a biofuel too! you might get away with it for a while but it will destroy them soon enough! and it does make your engine run hotter!
by the way you still needin that 1.5 i got or did you find something else?

Fantastic! I have the bottom, the CIS-E bottom part is the same as the regular CIS so I'm good to go there. Do you paypal? Send me a PM with details! Thanks!
Actually, the frequency valve is a little plug on the side of the CIS fuel distributor. It's what you hear making that "buzzing" sound while the car runs- this is only on the CIS-Lambda system. It's still not my favorite as the response from the frequency valve can be a little slow sometimes as things get older. CIS-basic does not have a frequency valve, and therefore no lambda adjustment. Also does not have full-throttle enrichment like CIS-Lambda and CIS-E does, so you have to raise system pressure a little with a shim kit and also fatten up the mixture at idle. No big deal.

CIS-E is just an abomination and defeats the whole purpose of what CIS is all about- simplicity.
You may run into problems with E-85 as I'm not sure what the factory braided stainless lines are inside. It would be a bear to replace all of those with something else, and CIS fuel pressure is higher than what most "normal" fuel-injection hose can handle. The good news is that indeed the fuel distributor is all metal and the banjo hose connections are also metal with copper washers so you would be good to go there. I suppose you could take all of your lines to a hydraulic shop and they could make a new set of braided lines with the old factory hose connections.
Thanks again Duane!
