Hi folks
  This is just what I've been looking for. I drove Jetta diesels for the last 21 years (my first was a new 84 TD) and recently changed to Toyota due to severe problems with a certain TDI Beetle. I am looking to build a supertruck for my enjoyment in the near future. An 89 or 90 VW Caddy with an intercooled 1.9 TD. You'll probably be hearing lots of questions from me then.

So the bettle was a money trap? I was going to research that model but will probably pass the more I hear. Can't beat simplicity I guess. :o

Hi, sorry to bother buy was the TDI Bettle really such a dog? I've seen a red woman owned '98 New Bettle TDI for sale locally with 180,000km for around 6000 CDN, looks clean from photo.
Not ready to trade up yet, think I'll do a GTD instead!  8)
